Your gift transforms Montana's power system.
The Montana Renewable Energy Association (MREA) is proud to launch our year-end campaign: Transform 2026.
From day one this year, we were called to transform. In 2026, the stakes will be higher. MREA is ready to step up.
- We will transform how Montanans understand and use solar, wind, batteries, and efficiency.
- We will transform energy affordability strategies for communities under strain.
- We will transform public education around DERs and their critical role in cleaner air, smarter grid operations, and a resilient energy future.
- We will transform Montana’s relationship with renewable energy at a time when our state needs it most.
Will you support Montana’s clean energy future with a year-end gift as we Transform 2026?
Through it all, we will continue doing what we do best: equipping and empowering the people and businesses to drive the renewables sector forward.
Because of your support, 2025 was a landmark year. But 2026 will bring new challenges. The federal incentive landscape for residential solar will shift dramatically, and many families and businesses will feel the pressure. That’s why MREA is committed innovative action on affordable clean energy. We stand with you.
Our goal is to secure 100 individual gifts between $5 and $5,000 by year’s end. Every dollar makes a difference.
The Transform 2026 Story

From day one of 2025, we were called to transform. As the legislative session began, MREA prepared two major renewable energy bills. And against all expectations, we moved both to the Governor’s desk.
Then the unexpected happened. The widely supported bipartisan Montana Solar Shares Act received a veto, and federal clean energy incentives came under attack.
So what did we do?
We transformed our thinking and took action again.
For the first time in our history, MREA mobilized Montana small businesses to Washington, D.C., elevating your stories directly to Congress. At home, we navigated the evolving landscape around Solar Shares while defending sound clean energy policy at the federal level. Every step of the way, we adapted, we persisted, and we stayed grounded in our mission.
Now, as Montana approaches a pivotal chapter for distributed energy and electrification, transformation is once again essential.

Residential clean energy tax credits are set to sunset on December 31, 2025, and Montanans need timely, accurate guidance more than ever. Rising energy costs are weighing heavily on households and communities. At the same time, our state faces soaring electricity demand, major grid questions, big regulatory actions at the Public Service Commission, and pending policy directives from Governor’s Energy Task Force. All of these are interrelated.
Because of your support, MREA made unprecedented achievements for clean energy in Montana. You helped us champion solar consumer rights, push innovative workforce training efforts, guide members through complex financial resources, and make real gains in the Legislature. None of this was possible without a broad community of homeowners, installers, engineers, advocates, and supporters working together toward a shared goal.
But we can't stop there.
Starting on Giving Tuesday, the first $8,000 in contributions will be matched. That means every dollar invested in MREA goes 2X as far for clean energy action locally.
Montana’s energy future is being shaped right now. Your support ensures that clean, affordable, reliable energy remains within reach for every Montanan.
